JACKSON, MS (WLOX) - JACKSON, MS (WLOX) - The Mississippi Supreme Court will take up formal disbarment proceedings in the January-February term against Paul Minor and two state court judges he was accused of bribing.
Minor, who had been among Mississippi's most successful lawyers, and Harrison County judges John Whitfield and Wes Teel were convicted in 2007 on numerous corruption charges.
Their law licenses have been suspended since 2008.
Minor and the former judges are also scheduled to be resentenced January 20th in the corruption case.
A federal appeals court overturned the bribery charges in December 2009, but upheld others, including mail fraud, wire fraud and honest services fraud.
All three men are in prison. Minor is serving the longest sentence of11 years.
