Donors give the gift of life at Edgewater Mall

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - You still have a chance to roll up your sleeve and give the gift of life during the 28th annual WLOX-TV Holiday 500 Blood Drive. Donations will be collected until 7pm Thursday, then again from 10am-4pm on Friday.

Edgewater Mall in Biloxi is hosting the blood drive. You can find everything set up near the rock wall.

The goal is to collect 500 pints of blood for the American Red Cross. Thursday's goal is 300 pints. As of early afternoon, the blood drive was half way to its goal.

Those who donate will get a free long sleeve shirt and a Chick-fil-a coupon for free goodies. Donors can also enter a drawing for a gift basket filled with $500 in gift cards and merchandise from stores at Edgewater Mall.

You can visit the American Red Cross website for more information on requirements donors must meet to give blood.
