ESCATAWPA, MS (WLOX) - ESCATAWPA, MS (WLOX) - A trash fire that got out of control Wednesday in Escatawpa is now contained.
The fire burned about 100 acres near Ball Park Road. It took 20 firefighters from various departments to bring the blaze under control.
The fire was started on purpose as a trash fire to burn cardboard. The people who started it thought it was out Tuesday night. But the wind kicked up the embers Wednesday and brought the blaze back to life.
Patrice Clark will have more on the damage left behind tonight on WLOX News at 6pm.
