PICAYUNE, MS (WLOX) - Pearl River County authorities gave dozens of suspected drug dealers early morning wake-up calls.
A year-long investigation culminated Tuesday morning with the arrests of 71 people.
The roundup began about 4 a.m. with officers from the sheriff's department, Picayune and Poplarville police departments going to homes of suspects.
Through the investigation, officials obtained warrants for 140 suspects.
Donnie Saucier with the Pearl River County Sheriff's Department told WLOX News most of those arrested face charges of selling drugs like methamphetamine and illegal prescriptions.
