Pickering faces lawsuit

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) – Former U.S. Representative Chip Pickering is facing a lawsuit.

One year after Pickering was involved in a fight with a youth soccer league coach a suit has been filed.

Christopher Hester, the man who claimed Pickering stalked and physically attacked him in December 2009 has filed the suit in Hinds County Court.

Hester's suit claims he lost income and suffered permanent physical scarring and disfigurement as a result of the attack.

Rocky Wilkins, Hester's attorney, said Monday they tried negotiating a settlement with Pickering to cover medical expenses, but Pickering did not want to pay.

According to Pickering's attorney, Mike Malouf, Pickering never received demands to pay the medical bills.
