Eyes of JUCO football world focus on Biloxi

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) – In just its third year, the Mississippi Bowl has grown into one of the more prestigious junior college bowl games. This afternoon at Biloxi High School, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College makes its second appearance in the Mississippi Bowl. The Bulldogs will play Grand Rapids.

Gulf Coast qualified for the game by winning the MACJC state title.

At one point this season, head coach Steve Campbell's team was ranked number one in the nation. So the coaching staff at Grand Rapids knows it has its hands full today at Indian Stadium.

Kickoff for the third annual Mississippi Bowl is Sunday at 2:00. Jeff Shepard has highlights and reaction from the JUCO bowl game on WLOX News Weekend and here on WLOX.com.

He'll also have highlights from Cincinnati, where the New Orleans Saints play in frigid conditions against the Bengals.  And at 10:00, Shep will let you know if Mississippi State is going to the Chic-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.
