JACKSON, MS (AP) - Reuben Duckworth rushed for 250 yards and two touchdowns as Mount Olive beat Durant 20-14 in the MHSAA 1A State Championship game on Friday.

In a rematch of last year's title game, which was also won by Mount Olive, Duckworth was spectacular on both sides of the ball. He completed 6 of 13 passes for 67 yards and one touchdown while also making a crucial interception in the end zone during the fourth quarter.

The Pirates scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter when Duckworth darted through the middle of the line for a 23-yard run.

Mount Olive (11-4) is the first 1A school to repeat as state champions since Weir in 1996 and '97.

Durant (14-1) had given up only three touchdowns all season before Friday's game. Cortez Frizell rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown to lead the Tigers.
