BILOXI, MS (WLOX) – Jolly Ole' St. Nick can give his elves a break.  The Asgard Motorcycle Club is coming to town to deliver Christmas toys to the boys and girls of South Mississippi.

"It just fills my heart to do it for the children. It's one of the reasons I became an Asgard, to see all the motorcycles coming together for a common cause," said Asgard rider Kurt Wright.

More than 600 bikers gathered for the 26th Asgard Toy Run.  Although the site of so many Harley's in one place can be intimidating, these bikers are all about giving back.

"It gives you a really good feeling inside all these rough and tough bikers coming together for the little children," said Wright.

"It's wonderful, yes ma'am.  We just do it for the kids and the people who don't have as much as we do," said Asgard Biff who was given the honor of leading the ride as Santa Clause.

Each year the Asgard riders collect toys, clothes, and donations that are hand delivered to the Knights of Columbus, and distributed to needy families by the Catholic Diocese.

"What we enjoy about it, what the guys like, is being able to give back to the community every year," said Biloxi Battalion Fire Chief Joe Boney.

Biloxi firefighters also joined in by donating and delivering their own load of bicycles that they bought and assembled on their own time.

"We know it goes to our community we serve and we appreciate that the most," said Boney. "They're a great bunch of guys and they support us and we support them."

The riders from across South Mississippi met up before rumbling over to the Knights of Columbus.  While some may seem rough around the edges, the Asgard riders are always ready to help those in need.

"It's what we do: try to help a little bit. It's not a lot but it's as much as we can do," said Biff.
