Surge slip a goal into the Havoc net in the 3rd period to nip Huntsville 4-3 Thanksgiving Night

BILOXI, ST (WLOX) - Before a crowd of 3,338 in Huntsville, Mississippi slapped home two goals in the first period.  Steve Weidlich with an assist from Chris Chambers opening the scoring for the Surge 1:12 into the game.  Jason Beeman came right back with a Surge power play goal at the 5:55 mark giving Mississippi a 2-0 lead.

Shaun Arvai scored power play goal at 10:19 of the first period to put the Havoc (8-4) on the scoreboard.

Huntsville's Kyle Laughlin tied the game at 2 with a goal at the 8:39 mark of the second period.  Jason Beeman tallied his second goal on a penalty shot at 13:51 giving the Surge a one goal edge.  Kevin Kessler would tie the hockey game at 3 at 19:26 of the second period.

Coach Steffon Walby's Surge would net the only goal in the third period.  Chris Chambers would send the puck into the back of the Havoc net, slicing the puck past Dan McWhinney at 9:12.  McWhinney took the loss.  He stopped 24 of 28 shots on goal.

Surge goalkeeper Dan Earles posted the win.  He gave up 3 goals on 37 shots.

Mississippi (7-3) entertains Pensacola (7-4) 7:05 p.m. Friday in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
