BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - BILOXI, MS (WLOX) – Most people know the Grand Biloxi property on Highway 90 is owned by casino giant Harrah's Entertainment. That was until Tuesday, when Harrah's executives decided to rename their company.
Harrah's is now Caesars Entertainment.
For Grand employees, the change simply means the Caesars name will appear on paychecks. No other changes will be made to the Biloxi property.
In a news release announcing the name change, chairman, president and chief executive officer Gary Loveman said, "In recognition of Caesars' status as the world's preeminent and most respected casino brand, we have changed the name of our parent company to Caesars Entertainment Corporation. The change reflects our evolution as the industry's leading provider of branded casino entertainment.
"While our name is changing, our dedication to who we are as a company will remain the same. Our employees will remain dedicated to the innovation, customer-service excellence and corporate citizenship that have been hallmarks of our company for decades," Loveman said. "This re-branding of the corporate name can open exciting new opportunities for us in the future."
Caesars Entertainment has 52 casinos around the world, and 70,000 employees.
