HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - The suspected triggerman in last weekend's shooting of three Southern Miss football players is finally under arrest. The U.S. Marshal's Task Force arrested Travis Brown Friday night on Broad Street in Hattiesburg.
WDAM-TV reports that two other people were arrested with Brown, and a gun was confiscated. They said Brown was taken to the Hattiesburg Police Department for questioning, then transferred to the Forrest County jail.
Three other people have been charged in the case, including Travis Brown's mother. Patricia Brown, Cleothus Wilkerson and Van Allen Myers each face three counts of "accessory before the fact."
A source at the Hattiesburg Police Department said Myers was at the Remington Hunt Club with the suspected triggerman before the shooting.
Martez Smith, Tim Green and Deddrick Jones were shot in the parking lot early Sunday morning after the club closed. The three players remain hospitalized.
