VANCLEAVE, MS (WLOX) - The  Admirals travel to undefeated Meridian Friday night at 7 in the 6A State playoffs.

Coach Mike Justice has guided Gulfport to 11 wins and 1 loss, coming off a 38-27 win over Natchez in the first round of the playoffs.

9 and 3 St. Stanislaus has the homefield advantage against Mendenhall in 4A play. The Rockachaws have posted 2 playoff victories knocking off Quitman 28-22 this past Friday.

St. Stanislaus beat Mendenhall 28 to 13 in the regular season.

In the 5A State Playoffs, 11 and 1 Vancleave has a tough assignment, a road trip to undefeated West Jones.

Coach Jim Bloomfield brings a rock solid Bulldogs team to West Jones led by quarterback Colin Bray. The senior has rushed for one-thousand-147 yards with 17 touchdowns, netting 6-point-3-7 yards per rush.

Bray has added 806 yards passing with 4 touchdowns.

Bloomfield has high praise for Bray, saying, "He's a very good young man.  He can throw the football and does a good job. He has the ability to throw it deep and he's accurate."@

Jacob Glynn has hauled in 26 passes for 367 yards and three touchdowns.

Travis Taylor and Brandon Smith give the Bulldogs added punch to Vancleave's ground attack.

The two have combined for 882 yards rushing and 9 Td's.

Coach Bloomfield knows West Jones presents an uphill challenge, but you can bet the Bulldogs will be up for the task.

"If we can have some good drives and get big up front and be physical, hopefully we'll play them hard," Bloomfield stated.
