BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant offer will be the focus of a special called meeting of Biloxi School Board. You may remember, the Kellogg Foundation has offered the Biloxi School District more $1.5 million to reopen Nichols Elementary.
As part of a cost saving measure the Biloxi School Board voted to close Nichols at the end of last school year along with Beauvoir Elementary and Michel Sixth Grade School. Since then, Save Our Schools has been lobbying the school board to reopen Nichols.
Monday's meeting on the Kellogg grant is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Dukate Building.
