Minority groups educate on health issues

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) – Reaching out and educating minority groups about health issues plaguing their community is the goal of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Black Nurses Association leadership conference.

The MGCBNA conference is helping attendees hone their leadership skills through classes and keynotes.

Organizers hope attendees will be able to carry out what they learn here back to their families and communities.

WLOX Reporter Elizabeth Vowell will have more on why the association believes that minority nurses will be more effective in reaching out to the minority issue on WLOX News at 5 p.m.
