OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Allstate Insurance and the New Orleans Saints are teaming-up to help save teen lives.

Thursday, former Saints Running Back Deuce McAllister visited Ocean Springs High School to push the "X the Text" campaign.

McAllister and Allstate representatives urged the students to stop texting and driving.

They targeted their message to hundreds of sophomores because many of them just got their driver's license.

The students made a pledge to stop the dangerous habit by stamping their thumb print on a banner.

"The first thing I'm supporting is the safety of the kids on the road, taking one more distraction away from them as they try to grow and be experienced drivers," Deuce McAllister said. "That's important to not only myself, but obviously to a lot of people."

Allstate is trying to offer the "X the Text" program to more schools across Mississippi.
