GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) – Gene Taylor still has plenty to do before his final term on Capitol Hill comes to an end. This morning, he was part of a panel discussion at the Knight Non-Profit Center. It was at that conference in Gulfport where the outgoing Congressman made his first post-election comments about losing to Steven Palazzo.
Taylor didn't reflect much on the election. And he said it was too early to tell what he would do in the future. When asked by a conference delegate what he'll remember most about his 21 years in Washington, Taylor said it was how he helped military men and women in war zones get the safety equipment they need.
Taylor lost Tuesday's election by almost 10,000 votes.
The interview with Rep. Taylor can be heard later today on WLOX News and on WLOX.com.
