Keel, Fairley will vie for George County sheriff's badge

GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - LUCEDALE, MS (WLOX) – It was a bittersweet night for Tony Keel. Just days after losing his son, Keel was the top vote getter in the race for George County sheriff. But to become sheriff, Keel must beat Bobby Fairley in a runoff.

Keel earned 47 percent of the vote on Tuesday night. Fairley finished a distant second, getting 23% support.

The winner of the runoff will replace the late Garry Welford as George County sheriff.
