Ring those cow bells; Bulldogs nip Wildcats

STARKVILLE, MS (WLOX) – Chris Relf had two touchdowns, including a fourth quarter TD run that propelled the Mississippi State Bulldogs to a 24-17 victory over Kentucky. It was the Bulldogs sixth straight victory.

Mississippi State capped the win with an interception near the goal line, ending Kentucky's hopes to get into overtime.

In Hattiesburg, Southern Miss scored with 33 seconds left to get into overtime. And it took its first lead of the game in OT number two. But when UAB scored a touchdown in that second overtime, it went for two and the win. The Blazers walked out of The Rock with a 50-49 stunner over USM.

In Oxford, Auburn proved that its top ranking in the BCS is warranted. Cam Newton had two touchdown passes, plus he caught a TD pass, leading the Tigers to a convincing 51-31 victory over Ole Miss.
