BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Mississippi's West Coast lights up with Christmas spirit tonight. The official holiday lighting of the Snowflakes will take place at 6:30 this evening in the Depot District of Bay St. Louis.
Hancock County Tourism Bureau and the cities of Bay St. Louis and Waveland started the annual Snowflakes Light Up for the Holidays after Hurricane Katrina to bring cheer and commerce throughout the coastal towns of Hancock County.
"Our beautiful century-year-old Live Oaks will be gloriously lit with snowflakes," said Hancock Tourism Development Bureau Executive Director Beth Carriere. "You can enjoy the magical coastal wonderland until the end of the holiday season."
The latest addition to the traditional lighted trees will be the "Shoo-fly" tree on Second Street in Old Town Bay St. Louis.
Al Showers will be there when the light is switched on tonight and he'll bring you some of that holiday magic this evening on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
