Wicked weather whips across the coast

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - BILOXI, MS (WLOX) – A line of storms associated with a cold front is making the morning commute quite a challenge.

Rain and winds blew down a phone line near Delauney Street in Biloxi. That happened in the early morning hours of Thursday morning. By 7:00, repairs crews were working on the low hanging line. Cars were able to drive around the mess.

Around 6:40 this morning, a three car accident at Veterans Avenue and Pass Road created quite a scare. Rescue teams confirmed that one person was transported to a Biloxi hospital with minor injuries.

Accidents have also been reported at the Highway 49/Highway 53 intersection, and on Kiln DeLisle Road.

A night earlier, funnel clouds spun through north Harrison County and north Jackson County. In one instance, a tree snapped, and power was cut off to several homes. WLOX and WLOX.com will continue to monitor the weather.
