BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - A Biloxi business owner arrested last week on a charge of trying to bribe a code officer now faces a second bribery charge, and an embezzlement charge.
Trong Dihn Do was arrested again Friday and charged with trying to bribe a city official to approve a building project that wasn't up to code. That official did not accept the payoff and reported it to authorities.
On the embezzlement charge, Do is accused of taking a commercial stove, intended for a daycare destroyed in Katrina, and using it in one of his businesses. Katrina grant money paid for the stove, but the daycare was never rebuilt.
Police say Do's daycare business partner discovered the switch when state officials began their investigation.
