GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Gulfport battled Hancock in the Kiln Friday night.  Once again the Admirals of head coach Mike Justice completed their mission posting an impressive 49 to 6 win over the home standing Hawks.

Gulfport running back Antwar Ashley had his number called 12 times and he responded in a big way.

Ashley exploded for 188 yards rushing and bagged 3 touchdowns.  He averaged a hefty 15.6 yards per carry every time he touched the football.  He's this week's Domino's Pizza High School Football Player of the Week.

"I just thought that I should come out motivated and ready to play because I was just feeling that it was time to just to the best that I can do," Ashley said.

Admirals head coach Mike Justice stated, "He had a great ball game. He found the seam two or three times, ripped off some big plays give him a bunch of yards."  He added, "All our backs work very hard. They know what they're doing. They just step up different times, different ones and we like it that way."

On the season, Ashley has ripped off 708 yards rushing, finding the end zone 11 times. He has averaged 101 yards rushing per game.

Ashley has a knack of finding the gaps in the line.  He said,"I have great vision. When I see the hole I'm hitting it as soon as it is there."

Ashley and his Admiral teammates face another challenge Friday night at 7, a road game at George County High School. Both the Admirals and Rebels share the top spot in the Region 4-6A standings at 3 and 0.
