BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Southern Miss Golden Eagles have won four straight games since an opening season loss at South Carolina running all over the Thundering Herd from Marshall last weekend 41 to 16.

Southern Miss tackles 2 and 2 East Carolina Saturday night at 6:30 in Hattiesburg in homecoming festivities. The Pirates are 2 and 0 in Conference play and will try ending the Golden Eagles home game winning streak at 11.

Fedora said, "East Carolina has won the conference the last two years. And if we want to win the East we'll have to go through East Carolina."

Southern Miss is a 9 point favorite over the Pirates.

Mississippi State travels to 3 and 1 Houston Saturday  night at seven. The 3 and 2 Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back wins and will try ending the Cougars home winning streak at 18 games.

Houston is without it's first and second team quarterbacks but coach Dan Mullen says the Cougars are still explosive.

At Monday's news conference Mullen stated, "When they get going they have guys who can score from anywhere on the field. And when you face a team that can score from anywhere they can put up points in a hurry."

Mississippi State has been tabbed a 5 point pick to beat the Cougars.

LSU is ranked 9th in the USA coaches poll and 12th in the AP poll. The undefeated Tigers are 5 and 0, but less then exceptional play at quarterback from Jordan Jefferson has LSU fans upset. A win over number 14 Florida Saturday night at 6:30 in the Swamp would give Coach Les Miles a huge boost. Jefferson will start the game and backup Jarrett Lee will also play for the Tigers.

Lee stated,"They have a great fan base and they've got a great team so that makes it difficult going in there. Preparation this week is going to be crucial."

The Gators are a 7 point favorite over the Tigers.
