South Mississippi weekend whereabouts - October 8-10

Cruisin' the Coast is rolling through the weekend. Get out and enjoy the beautiful weather and classic cars. Friday and Saturday there will be swap meets, auto auctions, a car corral, live bands and more. Once the sun goes down cruise on over to the casinos for great music including The Beach Boys, Vince Vance and the Valiants and George Jones. Sunday the big event wraps up at Cruisin' Central in Gulfport. For a full list of the events click here.

Before the Twilight Saga there was Count Dracula and he's back in search of mortal men and women at the Gulfport Little Theatre. Enjoy the musical at your own risk Friday or Saturday at 7p.m. or Sunday at 3p.m.

Enjoy a cool evening by the campfire at Gulf Islands National Seashore for storytelling, marshmallow roasting and more. There will be a professional storyteller but you are also invited to share your own scary stories. Bring your blanket, flashlight and lots of marshmallows the campfire tales begin Friday at 6p.m.

Lace up your shoes and help out local families affected by Down Syndrome. The one mile stroll begins from the Greyhound Stadium Saturday at 10a.m. All proceeds raised from the Buddy Walk go to providing education, research, and advocacy for those with Down Syndrome.

Flat track roller derby is one of the fastest growing sports in America and if you haven't experienced it ring side now's your chance. The Mississippi Rollergirls team is starting off the season with the Big Easy Rollergirls. Bring the family and check out the fastest women on wheels, the game is at the Harrison County Skate Park beginning at 7p.m.

Put on your blue suede shoes and get ready to be "all shook up" for the ultimate Elvis bash. Two actors have teamed up to bring you the most riveting tribute to the king of rock-n-roll from his early career all the way to his Vegas years. The electrifying musical will keeping you rockin' all night long. Elvis will enter the Mary C O'Keefe Cultural Center Saturday at 7p.m.

Enjoy a Cajun pig roast with the cast from "Swamp People" and maybe even get a few tips on alligator hunting. The exciting evening also includes Zydecajun music and cocktails. Join Troy, Jacob and Clint Landry Saturday at 9p.m. at the Hollywood Casino.
