BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Our Lady Academy has developed excellence in soccer and volleyball over the years.  On Thursday the Crescents traveled to the Tiger Dome and swept home standing Bay High in three sets in the Class I State Semifinals.

OLA will meet the Lafayette-Lewisburg survivor in the State Championship match Saturday morning at 11 at Mississippi College in Jackson.

6-1 senior Callie McNally had an outstanding match.  She piled up 11 kills on the night.

Teammate Erin Gibson added 11 kills and 15 assists.  Rachael Hotard led the Crescents with 26 assists.

Coach Mike Meyers said, "We have outstanding players and are fundamentally sound and do everything well.  But the chemistry on this team is incredible.  I mean these girls get along and they care for each other and they want to do well for each other. It's just a great group of girls."

The Mississippi Gulf Coast will be represented by two other teams in the state finals.  Long Beach defeated Vancleave to advance to the Class II State Championship game beginning Saturday morning at 3.  The Bearcats will meet Lake Cormorant in the title match.

Hancock traveled to Oak Grove Thursday night and defeated the home standing Lady Warriors in the Class III State Semifinals.  The Lady Hawks will try netting a win over Tupelo in the State title match at Mississippi College beginning Saturday afternoon at 1.
