OS mayor may have to testify at former opponent's DUI trial

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran and other city leaders will have to testify in Scott Walker's DUI trial.

Walker, a former mayoral candidate, was arrested in April. His trial is scheduled for Thursday in Moss Point.

City attorney John Edwards asked a judge to throw out ten subpoenas for city officials arguing neither the mayor nor any of the aldermen were present the night of Walker's DUI arrest.

Walker's attorney argued he has the right to call witnesses to defend his client.

Judge Cecil Byrd denied the city's request, so the mayor and others will have to testify, if called.
