D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - D'Iberville Police arrested 53-year-old Phi Van Tran of D'Iberville and charged him with sexual battery and two counts of molesting (touching a child for lustful purposes).

After hearing the facts, Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set bond at $150,000.00.

On Monday, September 13, 2010, D'Iberville Police started an investigation into a complaint filed by the Mississippi Department of Human Services. Authorities say a social worker informed Police that Tran had sexually assaulted three children.

D'Iberville Police requested Harrison County Sheriff's Investigator Carolyn Pendergrast interview the children, who disclosed information surrounding the assaults.

Based on these interviews, D'Iberville Police Captain Keith Davis and Investigator Don Butler, with the assistance of a FBI Special Agent Interpreter, interviewed Tran.

Following the interview, Tran was booked. Investigators presented facts and circumstances to the judge who subsequently issued a warrant for Tran's arrest.

Captain Keith Davis of the Criminal Investigations Division said investigators are still looking into these allegations, and more charges are anticipated.

If you have any information regarding this incident or any other crime in D'Iberville, please contact the D'Iberville Police Department at 228-396-4252 or Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
