New motor coach tourism program with BP grants

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The Hancock County Tourism Development Bureau launched a new motor coach program to promote overnight stays paying up to $1,500 traveling allowance, plus $250 per night to qualified operators.

Passengers among groups of thirty-five or more will receive $25 per night in free "Magnolia Money" shopping vouchers for their pre-approved stays, too.

"We're buying the love of motor coach travelers with BP's support grant funds," said Beth Carriere, executive director of the Hancock County Tourism Development Bureau. "We want to fill as many rooms as we can, and we're willing to pay organizers for helping us do it."

There are eight lodging partners participating offering nearly 900 rooms in the program that ends on November 1, 2010.
