Seale appeal before nation's high court

JACKSON, MS (WLOX) -

JACKSON, MS (AP) - The U.S. Supreme Court has scheduled a Sept. 27 conference to decide if it will hear an appeal from reputed Ku Klux Klansman James Ford Seale.

Seale is seeking to overturn his conviction for kidnapping of two black men who were killed in rural Mississippi in 1964. Court officials say a decision could be announced shortly after the conference.

Seale, now 75, was convicted in 2007 of two counts of kidnapping and one of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. He was given three life sentences.
