GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Capt. Louis V. Cariello will relinquish command of the 22nd Naval Construction Regiment Thursday morning. Capt. Kathryn A. Donovan will assume command of 22 NCR during a change of command ceremony at 10 a.m.

Donovan will become the 11th commander in the history of 22 NCR.

Capt. Donovan comes to 22 NCR from Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, D.C., where she served as the Assistant Operations Officer and then as Executive Officer.

Capt. Cariello and the members of 22 NCR recently returned from a six month tour in Afghanistan where they were the lead element of Task Force Alliance and exercised command and control over eight Naval Mobile Construction Battalions, four Army Engineer Battalions and two Air Force Engineer Squadrons.

Capt. Cariello will not have to travel far for his next assignment as he will become the commanding officer for the Naval Construction Battalion Center and commander of the 20th Seabee Readiness Group at a change of command ceremony Sept. 10 at NCBC Gulfport.

    Full-time Waveland city workers, primarily police officers, who take-home vehicles outside of the city limits could see a change to the city's policy soon. City leaders said the current policy is antiquated and needs to be rewritten into something that would benefit both the officers and the taxpayers.
