MGCCC President to retire

PERKINSTON, MS (WLOX) -

PERKINSTON, MS (WLOX) - The President of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is retiring at the end of this academic year.

Dr. Willis Lott told WLOX Tuesday he does not plan to work past his contract which ends in June of 2011.

Lott has served as president of MGCCC for the past 12 years.

Before that, he worked for six years in two different vice-presidential positions at Gulf Coast. Lott calls is a bittersweet decision.

But he says he will be 66-years-old next year, and he wants to spend more time with his grandchildren.

The Junior College Board will start searching for his replacement in early October.
