Ocean Springs High School construction behind schedule

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Construction on the new Ocean Springs High School is four months behind schedule. The superintendent is blaming the delay on too much rain lately.

Tuesday, crews started digging the footings for the foundation. They plan to pour the concrete on Thursday.

The school is going up at the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and Highway 57. The campus will be completed in stages, which means as each building is finished, the staff can start moving in.

The $52 million school is scheduled to open in May of 2012.
