HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - Two more programs are on the chopping block at USM Gulf Park. USM officials just announced that the Engineering Technology Master's program is being axed, as well as the Specialist Degree in Education.

USM had already announced that the Allied Health and Marine Sciences bachelors programs are being cut. Along with those cuts, three programs on the coast are being consolidated and moved to Hattiesburg.

Six faculty members at Gulf Park will be laid-off at the end of this academic year.

The Hattiesburg campus also plans to slash dozens of jobs and programs. The cuts are part of USM's budget proposal to save $15 million next year.
