HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Authorities say the capital murder suspect who killed himself before a jury could decide his fate was the focus of another murder investigation.
This week 42-year-old John Paul Necaise hanged himself in a holding cell at the Harrison County courthouse. John Paul Necaise was accused of kidnapping and killing 78-year-old, Francis Brice Roberts.
Roberts was reported missing October 30, 2008. After a five-day search, his body was found in woods near the Jefferson Davis Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Now, Hancock County Sheriff's Department says it was looking at Necaise as a suspect in the 2004 disappearance of an elderly man.
Investigators say 79-year-old Floyd Price went missing the same day he wrote a sizable check to John Paul Necaise.
Price's family eventually declared him dead. Investigators were never able to link him to the Price's disappearance.
