Judge finds probable cause in Capital Murder case

PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - A judge has found probable cause against two capital murder suspects. Daniel Lamont Hatten, 28, and Rodney McKenzie, 19, had their preliminary hearing in Pascagoula City Court Wednesday.

Judge Michael Fondren bound the case over to the grand jury, but no date has been set for jurors to meet.

Hatten and McKenzie were arrested on August 11 for the murder of Johnny Bullock. Investigators believe Bullock picked up McKenzie and Hatten in his van the morning before. Police said during that early morning ride, the men spotted some prescription drugs in the van and tried to rob the 67-year-old Bullock.

Patrice Clark was in the courtroom for Wednesday's hearing, and will have more on the court proceedings tonight on WLOX News at 6pm.
