BILOXI, MS (WLOX) – Biloxi High School reported no new cases of Chicken Pox Monday.  However, as a precaution, the school canceled Monday night's junior varsity football game.

The school had to cancel a football game last Friday, as well as a mini-cheerleading clinic and a volleyball tournament over the weekend, after a Biloxi High football player and a student manager came down with the illness.

The school sent letters home Monday, informing parents that their children may have been exposed to the virus and asking them to be on the lookout for any signs and symptoms of Chicken Pox.

"A school is a very close environment, the classrooms, the hallways and the cafeteria. As I understand it, Chicken Pox is highly contagious. So we want to give everyone fair warning that we have had two reported cases," said Biloxi High Principal Pamela Manners.

Manners said the two sick students have not returned to school and the staff will continue to monitor the situation very closely.
