Inmate escapes from Hattiesburg work center

HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) -

HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - Authorities are searching for an inmate who walked away from an inmate work center in Hattiesburg Monday morning around 7am.

Paul Pettis is a Forrest County Community Work Center inmate. He was last seen wearing MDOC state-issue green and white striped pants with a white MDOC shirt. Pettis is a 39-year old black male with brown eyes, black hair and weighs 130 pounds.

Pettis is serving a five year sentence for a conviction of Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime from Lafayette County.
