BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi police arrested a Baton Rouge man Thursday night for possessing close to 300 pounds of spice.
Police stopped Hasan Zaben, 31, on Interstate 10 for careless driving. That's when an officer noticed a small amount of Spice in plain view. During a search of the vehicle, officers said they found about 300 pounds of spice packaged under several names.
According to police, the confiscated spice has a street value of $4 million. It's the largest seizure Biloxi Police have made since the city outlawed the substance.
Spice is a type of synthetic marijuana, and is sold under several different names. Possession of it is a misdemeanor in Biloxi and several other coast cities and counties.
Zaben was booked on a city ordinance violation and ordered to pay a $2,000 cash bond.
