PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - A Pascagoula man has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder in the death of John McArthur Bullock, 67. Rodney Phillip McKenzie, 19, was apprehended without incident. He's being held at the Pascagoula Police Department without bond.
Just before three o'clock Tuesday morning, patrolmen found Bullock slumped over in the driver's seat of his van.
WLOX News has confirmed, Bullock, the owner of Bullock's Kennel, is the father-in-law of Pascagoula Schools Superintendent Wayne Rodolfich.
According to investigators, a resident in the vicinity contacted police at 2:53 am and reported a loud crash. When patrolmen arrived, they found a Chevrolet Astro van, stationary on the guide wire of a pole, in front of 2510 Martin Road. Bullock was slumped over in the driver seat, wearing his seatbelt.
Bullock's roommate of two years, James Muldoon, told WLOX News, Bullock left the house to get coffee just before 2:00 am.
"I told him, 'don't leave. It's too late,'" Muldoon said.
Police say their investigation is continuing, and more arrests may be made. They ask anyone with information to contact the Pascagoula Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division.
