4th arrest made in Gulfport murder case

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A fourth person has now been arrested for the July 2 murder of a Gulfport man. James Goodman, 20, was arrested Monday and charged with capital murder.

The victim, 30-year-old Courtney Beavers, was found dead in the doorway of his home in the 1500 block of 34th Avenue. Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said Beavers died from a single gunshot wound.

Goodman is being held with no bond at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Gulfport Police have arrested three other people in connection with the case: Nicholas Lydie, Kewan Hosey and Alfred Newsom.
