PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - Pascagoula police are looking for suspects who vandalized more than 10 boats at the Singing River Yacht Club on Sunday. The boats were stored at the yacht club and weren't in use at the time of the vandalism. Detectives said they do have some leads on the case.
The Singing River Yacht Club sits off of Martin Street in Pascagoula. In the early hours of Sunday morning 12 boats were vandalized.
Detective Darren Versiga said, "Just being really juvenile, tearing things up, throwing stuff in the water, stealing the keys, stealing the boat titles."
Versiga with the Pascagoula Police Department is working the case. He said the report came in Sunday morning that several glass doors on the boats had been broken.
"We do have some video footage. The video footage is grainy from such a distance away," Versiga said. "Based on the footage we have a color of a vehicle, and we have the possibility of at least two people that were there."
According to Detective Versiga several people have been interviewed, but as of now, no one is in custody.
"We're doing the investigation. We've got a couple of leads we're looking at," said Versiga.
Detective Versiga said members of the yacht club have put together an $1,800 reward for anyone with information solving the case.
Police ask that if you have any information on this case please call the Pascagoula Police Department at 228-762-2211.
