If the heat becomes too much for you to handle, there are places where you can cool off. The Paralyzed Veterans of America will have its building open to the public as a cooling center. It is located at 15489 Dedeaux Road in Gulfport, and will be open Monday through Friday, 8am-6:30pm.
Also, the Isaiah Fredericks Community Center is open for those seeking shelter from the heat. It's located at 3312 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Gulfport.
And while they are not official cooling off stations, you can go to any public library in South Mississippi to take refuge from the heat, as well as community centers and museums.
