Wife pleads guilty to manslaughter in husband's shooting


PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - Jennifer Benton has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the death of her husband.

Benton shot her husband to death while the two were riding in their car in Moss Point in 2005.

According to Assistant District Attorney Brice Wiggins, her sentence has been deferred. Wiggins says she should be sentenced later in the court term.

Benton's second capital murder trial was supposed to start today. Her first trial ended in a mistrial.
