BILOXI – (WLOX) Former Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has chosen to attend Ole Miss and will walk-on to the Rebel football team for the 2010 season, that according to Andy Staples of SI.com.
Staples reports that after a weekend visit to the Ole Miss campus in Oxford, the San Francisco native Masoli has decided to attend school across the country. Masoli is expected to battle Nathan Stanley for the starting quarterback job in Oxford.
Masoli, who led the Ducks to the 2010 Rose Bowl last season, was kicked off the team this summer after several run-ins with the law. The final straw for coach Chip Kelly was when Masoli was pulled over for failing to stop and marijuana was found in his car.
Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt started considering Masoli as an option last weekend, when Raymond Cotton announced he was transferring out of the Rebel football program.
Running Oregon's spread last season, he threw for 2,147 yards and 15 touchdowns and rushed for 668 yards and 13 touchdowns. Masoli is expected to report to campus in Oxford next Friday.
