JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - An undercover sting operation this week ended with a Jackson County store owner in jail, charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine. A Narcotics Task Force raid found Buu Quac Chau's convenience store stockpiled with hundreds of items used to make, sell and use drugs.

Chau, 42, is the owner of the B C Mart, commonly referred to as "the old countryside" store, located on Hwy 63 in the Wade community of Jackson County.

The undercover operation was set up after Sheriff Mike Byrd and the Narcotics Task Force received a number of complaints about the store.

Agents raided the business Tuesday night, and took Chau into custody without incident. During their search of the store, agents seized more than nine cases of starting fluid (ether), six cases of Drano brand drain cleaner, 36 boxes of salt, seven cases of methanol, 16 bottles of cigarette lighter fluid, hydrogen peroxide and isopropyl alcohol. All of those household items are commonly used to manufacture Methamphetamine.

Agents also seized more than 10,000 small zip-loc type baggies, which are commonly used to package and distribute drugs, 70 hand held and two digital scales used to weigh drugs, more than 500 packs of rolling papers, more than 200 glass pipes, and one case of copper wool, which is placed in the glass pipes to smoke drugs.

Eight one gallon plastic tubs containing herbal incense, also known as spice, were seized. The county recently outlawed the sale of spice.

The spice blends were labeled with names such as Purple Haze, Purple Rain, Berry Good, Damn Good, Twisted, and Ocean Breeze. There were also homemade labels used when packaging the spice.

If you have any information that could help investigators, call the Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County at (228) 769-3302 or email taskforcetips@cableone.net. The task force promises your information will remain confidential.
