GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) – A duplex across the street from the Blow Fly Inn was engulfed in flames overnight. About 30 minutes after Gulfport firefighters arrived, they had the situation under control.
The fire was at the corner of Pine and Washington.
Gulfport fire teams arrived at the scene around 11:00 Sunday night. The duplex that burned sustained heavy damage. But firemen say because of their quick work, they prevented flames from spreading to neighboring duplexes.
Fire investigators said the duplex was supposed to be vacant. And it didn't appear anybody had been living there. As of midnight, investigators were on the scene, looking for clues to determine how the fire ignited.
