PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -Katy Gominger works out five days a week.  On Monday, Wednesday and Friday she does weights and sprints.  On Tuesday and Thursday's she only does sprints.

She's making a comeback following a season ending injury.  On a hot blistering afternoon on the Pass Christian High School track, she was running sprints.  Gominger said she tore her ACL in a soccer tournament at the beginning of the high school soccer season.  She said, "To get back in shape I had to rehab my right leg.  All the hard work has paid off."

Despite that season ending injury, Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana offered Gominger a soccer scholarship and she accepted.  She's an inspiration for athletes who suffer injuries.

Gominger says, "Never give up hope. You have to stay determined and motivated, even if you get hurt you have to get back out there because if it's something you love to do, you'll play no matter the circumstances."

Katy Gominger plays center midfielder and she's doing everything humanly possible to be ready to open the season for the Northwestern State Demons
