MOBILE, ALA. (WLOX) - The Mobile County Sheriff's Office was arrested at his home in Mobile Monday afternoon during an undercover investigation.

Mobile County Sheriff's spokesman Lori Myles said, "Russell was charged with possession of codeine syrup, a controlled substance, without a prescription."  She added, "It has a street name of Zip-Zip or Slurp-Slurp, I'm not really sure which one it goes by.  I just heard this from some of the narcotics agents."  Myles said, "You mix it with a Sprite and just drink that and it gives you a buzz."

Russell was booked into the Mobile jail and released on $2,500 bond.

The Oakland Raiders drafted Russell with the number one overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.  However after three seasons the Raiders released the former LSU standout in May.  In 25 starting assignments, Russell led the Raiders to seven wins.
