Biloxi begins work on nearly $1M lighting project

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Crews began putting up new acorn-style lamp posts this week along West Beach.

The first part of the project will install more than 400 lights on potions of U-S 90, under the I-110 over pass and along part of Bayview Avenue. An additional phase will add 200 lights to seven other areas in the city.

The new lighting is part of a federally funded project worth close to $925,000. Officials expect to complete the project by July.
