Murder suspect turns himself in after body is found

DELISLE, MS (WLOX) - Just three hours after a missing man was found dead in Delisle, the alleged killer turned himself in to authorities.

Corey Jansen Brown, 25, of Pass Christian was charged with Murder Wednesday afternoon.

Harrison County Sheriff's Deputies received information that the victim, 21-year-old Matthew Dedeaux of Pass Christian, was involved in an altercation with Brown. Investigators believe during the argument, Brown pulled out a handgun and shot Dedeaux several times.

Deputies began interviewing residents in the area and eventually found Dedeaux's body in a wooded area south of St. Stephens Road and Oak Road. He had been shot in the chest.

About three hours later, Brown surrendered to authorities.

Brown is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $3 million bond.
